Miracles at Christmas
Don't be alarmed by the title of this post...lol! It is not another sappy Christmas movie line...
Since I was off work today, I ended up watching TV part of the day. Even though I never watch this show...I actually watched The 700 Club today.
The topic today was on "miracles". First story was about a man, who had suddenly became ill, spent a few days in the hospital where doctors had NO idea what was wrong. They discovered he had two abcesses on his liver, he was raging with fever, his blood pressure dropped severely low, and he went into septic shock....basically he was on his death bed. One of his friends was a doctor there and part of his church. He called everyone to prayer and the man came out of being deathly ill. Praise God for His healing power!
What got to me was the fact of hearing this man's doctors share how serious this was for him and how it really was a miracle that he recovered. I was humbled by that thought....because this man had all the symptoms I also had this summer. I mean, I KNOW its a miracle of healing that I am alive...but I guess I still didn't really realize how close to death I really was.
I want to say THANK YOU to all who did pray for me, those that know me, and those that know of me through friends. It certainly was NOT my time to go...and I am glad that "God isn't finished with me yet".
Such life is a blessing...and I am wishing and praying for a New Year filled with health and love and grace for each one of you!

My Vacation/Christmas Trip to OPK
How was my vacation? Let's see....
There was some stubbornness, a little moping, and "wanting to help with EVERYTHING"...AND that was just from T!!!!! =D j/k....T did a great job of letting me come in and take over her kitchen...which is hard to do for me, personally. She is a great friend!
Actually, our visit with T and Dash was wonderful!
We enjoyed a day of making Christmas cookies with all four kids. (of course, the best part was when the cookies were gone and so was the constant requests of "can we have another cookie...pleeeeeease?" LOL!
I was priviledged to make some of T's mom's famous recipes. We enjoyed a delicious brown sugar baked ham...unfortunately, the cooked pineapples met their end without any say in the matter...lol! So if you hear any squealing...it is more than likely the pineapple rings still searching for an escape! We also enjoyed roasted red potatoes and green beans w/bacon, topped off with jumbo size crescent rolls. Since all the cookies were gone, we served a choice of spice cake w/ homemade butter cream frosting or strawberry cake w/ funfetti frosting.
During Dash's reading of the Christmas Story, we experienced a quiet still teachable moment with young hearts that just thrilled my soul. This has been the BEST Christmas I have had in years.
Thank you Lord Jesus, for your gift of love and friendship!

Christmas Surprise!
While the boys were at their last day of school today, I got to wrap presents without any risk of them finding out anything.....
Well, almost!
Just now, I hear a beep-beep-beep sound coming faintly from under the tree. I know what it is, because I bought it. LOL! However, my youngest picked it up and ran over to his older brother and said, "Hey, guess what....it's BEEPING!"
I ducked into my room real quick so to not bust out laughing...and therefore, wrote this blog!
Guesses anyone?

Way Cool!
I had the rare opportunity to go to dinner with a friend and her husband last evening. One of my favorite places is Macaroni Grill....and we enjoyed a wonderful dinner. I knew that I had to be careful to budget the extra costs, but since it was in celebration of our December birthdays....it was worth it. The unique thing was I knew I was supposed to receive a small rebate in my paycheck from my insurance premium. When I checked my account this morning I saw that my expenses last night was $23.10 and my rebate was $23.09. How cool is that?!
When I went to the food pantry the other day and was putting away the toiletries and discovered my favorite brand of toothpaste! I had so wanted to go buy it but was limited on funds and had decided to be grateful for what I received from the pantry. Pretty cool!
There were also several food items that happened to be my kid's favorites as well. Usually we get more generic cereal, which we do eat! But it was so like God to provide some of the favorites this time. Way Cool!

We're Gonna Party...like it's My Birthday...
7:30 am - We really are gonna party...there is NO SNOW! =D
8:00 am - Shopping for my birthday present...a pedicure set to "pamper myself". Oh, and the dishwasher soap, and the laundry detergent, and the sinus medicine...oh well, I did pick out a new nail color...something I haven't done in 5 years. LOL!
9:00 am - T's birthday present arrived.........It's SNOWING!!!! It's okay, I still love ya!!!! Next time, a two-liter of coke will be enough...
10:00 am - Took a hot soak for my pedicure and manicure...talked to my best friend...watched Matlock (while my nails were drying...lol)
3:00 pm - Picked up my boys from daycare..."let's get this party started" with a fireplace and they played in the snow.
6:00 pm - Got to spend snuggle time with my boys....the fire was going good!
10:00 pm - Played Gin online with T...that was alot of fun!
Overall....I had the BEST birthday I have had in years ;)

Attitude Adjustment
Woke up this morning a little late. Not good!
Heard the boys squealing to the top of their lungs. It Snowed!
My heart sunk to the floor. Oh crap!
Got everyone off for the day. Very good!
Must take time to pray. Attitude Adjustment!!

The Blahs
Instead of singing the blues....I think I am singing the Blahs...LOL!
For some reason my spirit and personality is greatly affected by the weather and lack of sunshine. Which is another reason I could never live in Alaska as an adult! I have heard of the tanning beds being a solution to the Seasonal Affective Disorder, so I decided to do some Google research on it tonight.
There is even a self-test to take, if you are interested in checking it out.
http://www.normanrosenthal.com/winter_blues_2.shtml (not sure if it will work as a link)
The products are quite expensive so I honestly think it may pay off for me to reactivate my tanning membership! =o)
